Welcome to Ingram Educational Consulting (IEC)! We are delighted to have you join our community and look forward to embarking on a journey of growth, learning, and leadership with you. At the heart of our mission is our founder, Orville O. Ingram, M.Ed., a leader dedicated to "changing the world one leader at a time".

A Foundation of Passion and Experience

Orville’s journey began with a transformative moment 21 years ago when he delivered a student leadership address at Madison Square Garden to the graduating classes of BMCC. This experience ignited a lifelong commitment to inspiring others—a commitment that has blossomed into over two decades of experience in education and leadership development.

Orville O. Ingram is an author, school leader, executive coach, and director. He has spent over two decades witnessing and contributing to leadership in various forms, ranging from managing individual departments to influencing policy within massive systems like the New York City Department of Education.

Ingram’s journey into leadership began in high school as a Junior Achiever, a nonprofit program where he served as the Vice President of Production for a student-led club. This early experience in entrepreneurship taught him the fundamentals of collaboration and leading with purpose. He credits much of his professional foundation to his mentor, Nigel Pugh, who provided him with his first true leadership opportunity and offered quiet, unwavering support throughout his career

Orville is recognized for his blend of reflection, humility, and practicality. In July 2024, he began working with leadership coach Karey VanBuren, who noted that Orville does not just study leadership theory—he practices it daily. His core philosophy is that "leadership lives in simple gestures done with heart" and that small, intentional moves are what build real momentum in a team. This belief led him to write Leadership in Small Bites, a field guide designed to help busy leaders move from overthinking to "the doing".

Beyond his professional roles, Orville is the father of two sons, Jason and Nathan, whom he describes as his greatest joy and most important leadership role. He actively applies his leadership principles at home, believing that the same habits of presence and empathy required to lead a team are essential for building deep, trusting relationships with his family.

Through his work, Orville seeks to light a path for others, helping them lead with consistency, courage, and conviction.

Currently, he is finishing his Ph.D. in Special Education. This will support educational institutions and initiatives through comprehensive consulting services that go well beyond general leadership training.

Drawing on Orville Ingram's background as a sitting Executive Director of Special Education, IEC brings deep, practitioner-level expertise to improving educational environments, developing leadership capacity within schools, and guiding institutions through complex organizational and policy challenges.
